Title: Halo problem .. KB969798
Post by: {XG}EagleFL on 29 October 2013, 21:34:00
It was meant to be there.

So yeah, it's me again, with another problem.
I'm right now 50km away from home, at my brother's house, with my pc.
Just installed Halo from my portable version, attempting to start halo...Failed.
Downloaded it from another site... Failed.

"Cannot allocate required memory.." stuff again.

inb4 "lmgtfy QQ eagle why you can't do stuff by yourself"

Nah, really, I haven't googled it, since I know this issue from the past... now the real problem is..
I don't have the KB969798 IE8 update, since I deleted it about a year ago.
Googled up, can't see to find anything interesting.

The KB969798 causing the problem, and .. I don't have anything to delete, in order to Halo work again.

What should I do? :o

Tried both, still can't launch Halo.
Nevermind, I will be at home in several days, so.. Don't panic, I'm not inactive ::)

Its due to a Internet Explorer automatic update. Search at Control Panel the updates of IE and find the KB03501535.... (i dont know which one is exactly) and delete it.
It should work :P

I faced this problem several times, know how to fix it... but I write it down my actual status about it ..

The problem, is that I deleted the update long ago, and only this could solve it ..  :c
Downloaded halo from several site, portable, updated it to all of the existing halo update thingies.
I think I'll just play Freelancer this week.

Its not only the IE update, HALO ce also crashes when microsoft Office 2007 updates itself, check and see if you have this update installed KB969679... its a "security" update for microsoft office. then if you have it you can delete it from control panel

Try updating your game to 1.09 as well if you haven't yet.
The 1.09 patch fixed some of those issues with windows updates and such.

At least it works fine here on Windows 7 - 8.1 and office 2010 - 2013

So, yeah, moved to my brother's house, can't launch halo again.

My portable version of halo is already v1.09.

And George, I think you will be today's hero. I was looking for that program, but my bookmarked link is broken, and couldn't find it anymore.

I will try to fix it asap. Thank you!

I found my old portable link on my youtube channel, but it have some extra maps, and so on.

I'll remake that, include that antihalo parche file, a keygen, and upload it again.
Also the universal UI replacement file, so the "searching for updates" kind of message will not show up when someone want to join an internet game.

I can't host a keygen or other illegal material, but I can host the patch.
