Arma Series / Arma 3 trailer
« on: 12 October 2014, 01:09:14 »
For those of you who don't know what this game is about:

It has a lot of mods like the famous Dayz mods but it also has RPG mods like citylife.
Also see: http://makearmanotwar.com/

The game itself is quite realistic so no you won't have overshields or active camouflage  ;)

Experience true combat gameplay in a massive military sandbox. Deploying a wide variety of single- and multiplayer content, over 20 vehicles and 40 weapons, and limitless opportunities for content creation, this is the PC’s premier military game. Authentic, diverse, open - Arma 3 sends you to war.

Key Features in Arma 3

    Altis & Stratis
Defeat your enemy on a richly detailed, open-world battlefield – stretching over 290 km² of Mediterranean island terrain. From expansive cities to rolling hills, whether steamrolling your tank across the dusty plains, flying a transport helicopter over the dense forests, or waging asymmetric warfare from the rocky hills, the islands of Altis and Stratis are dynamic worlds, which lend themselves to the most varied engagements in gaming.

    Weapons & Vehicles
Head into combat on foot, drive armored vehicles, or take to the skies in helicopters and jets. Conduct a combined arms attack over air, land, and sea, with over 20 vehicles to drive and pilot, 40+ weapons to pick from, customizable loadouts with short- and long-distance attachments, and various types of gear to suit your needs on the battlefield. With a massive arsenal at your disposal, Arma 3 moves you into a world of tactical opportunities.

    Singleplayer
Follow the story of Ben Kerry, a soldier who gets caught up in a Mediterranean flashpoint, across three gameplay-driven campaign episodes: Survive, Adapt, Win. Immerse yourself in Arma 3’s diverse gameplay by completing the focused showcase scenarios. Run through the competitive firing drills to hone your shooting and movement skills, and complete your training by signing up to Arma 3 Bootcamp, which features SP and MP tutorials, and a dedicated Virtual Reality practice environment.

    Multiplayer
Fight online in the massive military sandbox that is Arma 3. Form a squad and team up against your enemy in the official Defend and Seize multiplayer scenarios. Or jump into one of the many popular unofficial game modes developed by the Arma 3 community. Experience a new form of multiplayer in Arma 3 Zeus, where Game Masters have the ability to influence the battlefield of other players in real-time.

    Content Creation
Start creating your own experiences with Arma 3’s intuitive scenario editor and powerful modding tools. Enjoy a platform filled with player-created content, ranging from custom weapons and vehicles, to intense singleplayer scenarios and entirely new multiplayer game modes. Report a Rule Breaker / Re: {XG}Unfamed possibly using hax?
« on: 09 October 2014, 12:20:19 »
*cough* hax? *cough* *cough* damn it *cough* fvck this viru..*dies*

Sooooooooooooooooooooo ;D If someone would go so far to use bots/hax/toys (whoa), I think the person will never post screenshots about it, unless drunk, completely unfamiliar with our rules, or yeah, simply testing his friend's program.

First of all, he broke our Nr.#1 supa ultimate first-before-everything-else and do-not-break-it-or-you-are-bannedforlifenigga rule, the one which said, never use any cheat, or programs like this.
As the evidence shows it, he is currently around his base, sitting in a warthdoy, and not doing anything "bad"..

Yeah I know, I'm kind and idiot enough to forget things like this, but in my eyes, he was not participating in a 8pro vs 8 pro championship where he could gain the upper hand with programs like this, he just.. sitting around base, showing what this program can do.

Just remember CSB's accident.. (yeah, no finger pointing or anything, I hate bringing up the past) I voted for him, so he can try again in his tryout, and look... I was wrong letting him stay? ;D

I give Unfamed another, and of course a last chance trying to protect him. If he fails to comprehend, or break rules like this in close-future, I will no longer try to make him stay here ;D anyway, heyaaaa *teleports away*
Yes, but if we are going to close an eye for cheating people will think we allow such behaviour.
We draw a clear line with the rule and all members should be aware of the rules, so there is no excuse for cheating...

{XG} Clan News / Re: Updating website
« on: 06 October 2014, 11:33:13 »
Cloudflare has been enabled again, if you still have issues please try and clear your browser cache.
If the issue still exists in 48 hours please let me know.

Also updated the forum software and replaced the background since the old one was loading very slowly(from a third party server) and made it load with https again (no more security warnings :D )

Just noticed SPDY has not been enabled yet, just contacted cloudflare to get this solved since it should be part of the free plan which they offer.

I've disabled cloudflare for the moment being, since the SSL certificate is still issuing.

As I said;

"With the new roll out of Universal SSL, Users may need to wait up to 48 hours for their site to have a SSL certificate generated for their domains. During the first few days of the Universal users may need to wait longer as we process all users for SSL."
Because of this, you might receive a certificate warning while trying to visit the forums, this should be resolved within a few days.

Since Cloudflare is now offering free SSL for free accounts I've decided to make use of it.
We are currently migrating our website to cloudflare to speed up the loading of our website by using a CDN and also getting SPDY support.

Additionally I've made some optimizations on our webserver and database which should also result in slightly faster loading and made some updates to the website software.

As you might have noticed our servers in France got a new IP because we moved them to a faster system with permanent DDoS protection, I've added the servers back on gametracker today.
I've also removed our servers which ran on 1.04 or 1.00, since gamespy is down and updated our 1.09 USA servers to 1.10.

We will add the servers back on xfire at a later moment and we will also check the issue with the zombie servers.

Servers / Re: Zombie Server Issue
« on: 11 September 2014, 01:30:02 »
Did this issue only happen on the EU server? If so it might be caused by one of the latest sapp updates.. 8.x series
I've just updated Dallas to 1.10 and sapp 8.x so it should now happen there as well.

Someone should look in to the events file and check sapps changelog to see if a command has to be edited.

General Discussion / New RTS game to play
« on: 07 September 2014, 18:27:21 »
I'm looking for some new real time strategy games to play in co-op, since I got bored of C&C.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/233250/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/204880/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/40100/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/21760/

Which of these would you get? or do you know a better strategy game than the above?

SPAM / Re: Which anti-virus do you prefer??
« on: 27 August 2014, 00:38:04 »
I use ESET NOD32 antivirus, low cpu and memory usage.

Windows firewall works fine for what I do on my home computer(the router has NAT and firewall which is fine anyway), on my laptop I have ESET smart security which has a slightly better firewall than windows.

I also know a few websites that give advice for pc's in several budget area's and update it.

http://uk.hardware.info/pcbuyersguide (this one isn't that good IMO, no gaming systems)
and https://tweakers.net/tag/Best+buy+guide/reviews/ (its in Dutch so you need Google translate, or you can ask me ;) But they have advice for gaming rigs for  450 en 750 and 1.000 euro. )
