Why is masterchief wearing some stupid cloth when he has a fucking MJOLNIR battlesuite -_-
Maybe to hide from the Forerunners chickens that might be invading Earth.
Doesn't look like earth to me.

General Discussion / Re: Fake XG servers and Gameservers.com
« on: 10 June 2013, 15:24:53 »
I suggest we all send an email to: [email protected]

Just put this in there:

Quote
Dear GameServers.com employee,

It came to our attention that one of your clients is using our clan name in their server name, we have requested him to remove our name from his server but he denied to do so and banned us from his server.

We have spent a lot of money and time in building up a respectable community and clan within the Halo Combat Evolved / Halo Custom Edition community over the past 5 years.
Because of this we are currently one of the biggest international clans in this game on the PC platform.

We take offense that your client is unjustly benefiting from our good name and is creating misinformation and confusion about our clan and our servers.
The quality of play is likely to be degraded on these imitation servers because {XG} members can only enforce our clean gaming policies and standards on our own servers.

We see this as an act of defamation and copyright infringement which is punishable under Article 225 and Article 261 of the criminal law in The Netherlands.

We decided to contact his previous game server provider about this issue and they agreed to remove our clan tag from that server, however this person decided to put it back after which we again requested that game server provider to remove it.

After this the person in question decided to switch over to GameServers.com, but he still uses our clan tag which is unacceptable.

We have used the {XG} or Extreme Gaming clan name since the 8th of April 2007 and it's protected under the common law/civil rights act in The Netherlands.
To get protection from this law we have to provide proof that we used this name before the other person who is using it.

On the WHOIS database you can see that we used the www.xgclan.com domain since 2011: http://whois.domaintools.com/xgclan.com
Before that time we made use of the domain 1xgclan.com and before that our website could be found at: http://dhost.info/xgc/
Please see: http://web.archive.org/web/20070701000000*/http://dhost.info/xgc/

We kindly request you to remove the {XG} part from your client's server name since a lot of players are confusing his server: " {XG} CLASSIC CTF ALL VEHICLES [24/7], with our servers: "{XG}Classic CTF [24/7]" and "{XG}ALL VEH CTF [24/7]"
The IP address of the server in question is 108.61.253.220:2302 which is hosted by your company in The Netherlands.

Regards,

The Extreme Gaming clan admin team.

I've updated a script on the server and spammers should be muted now.

Please let me know if you notice any bugs.

Please share this story with everyone so they know the truth behind this company!
For example post it on other clan forums and other community forums.

Does anyone have experience with fake clan servers and know how to resolve such issues?

General Discussion / Fake XG servers and Gameservers.com

We noticed that gameservers.com is hosting a fake server of our clan. This server has an exact copy of our server name including the clan tag.

We take offence that these people would try to unjustly benefit from our good name and are creating misinformation and confusion about our clan and our servers.
We encourage you to avoid their servers which are an unauthorized rip-off of our servers. The quality of play is likely to be degraded on these imitation servers because {XG} members can only enforce our clean gaming policies and standards on our own servers.

We have contacted the admin of this imitation server but they refuse to do anything about it and just banned us from the server?

So how does GameServers.com handle a imitation server of your clan?
They don?t!

We provided gameservers.com with the proof of registration of our clan as well as evidence of a client of them using the same server name.
We have asked them to remove the clan tag from that gameserver, but they refuse to do so.

We then provided them with the law article's which they are infringing in the country in which the gameserver is hosted.
"We see this as an act of defamation and copyright infringement which is punishable under Article 225 and Article 261 of the criminal law in The Netherlands."

They still deny to do anything without us actually taking them to court which is a long lasting and expensive procedure to do.
So apparently their policy is: "law of the jungle".
If gameserves.com does something wrong but you mean no threat to them then they will do what they want.

On top of that their support staff has been very rude to us.
For example:

Hello,

We are not the entity infringing on your claim.  It is a customer of ours.  We CAN NOT take action based upon the limited evidence supplied.

You have no official documentation in regards to the ownership of the brand.  AGain, this is NOT a copyright issue.

You are more than welcome to contact your legal representation and have them provide sufficient legal cause and documentation backing up your claim, which our legal department will be more than happy to review.

You must understand, we get many hundreds of claims of this nature, and we do not take action without sufficient cause and documentation.

Thanks,

Zachary Williams

They claim that they are not doing anything wrong!
So if a company does something in behalf of their customers they are suddenly allowed to break the law?

My clan is disappointed in gameservers.com and will withdraw from using their services now and in the future.
We suggest other clans and customers of GameServers.com to do the same until gameservers.com changes their policy and care about their customers and the gaming community instead of only caring about maximizing their profit!

PC Help! / Re: New processor
« on: 04 June 2013, 17:54:05 »
depends on which I5 or I7 you want to get.

If you want a haswell generation I will have to check for you.
Usually an MSI or Asus motherboard somewhere around the 100-140 euro will be fine.

If you want to get an ivy/sandy bridge one I recommend the MSI z77-GD65 since I have it my self.

Depends on the cooling you have.
You are probably better of buying a cheap motherboard and a new I5(for example the haswell range)

Just tell your parents that it saves a lot of elecktricity so they might pay for it  ;)

And honestly I think you should stop whining like a little kidd...

If you're using ADSL then your speeds depend on how far you are away from the vodafone telephone central.
If you live in a rural area then you usually are far away from it and the speeds are slow.

I suggest switching to a coax/cable provider, they usually offer much better speeds(which don't depend on how far you are away from their telephone central thingy), the ping times are also lower.

Or even better is fiber, which offers the best pingtimes but isn't very common yet.

Ooook but i wanna buy a amd radeon.....i want change CPU suggest?i5 4 core 3.02 ghz i7 4 core 3.04 ???
I5 will be fine, I7 only adds hyper threading which you're not gonna need if only gaming.

If you're going to run server applications or video encoding then go with the I7.

I suggest the AMD/ATI (sapphire HD 7870 XT 2gb whit turboboost) because nvidia has a bug with Halo where active camouflage doesn't show up.

you won't notice the difference between pcie 3.0 and 2.0 since the graphic cards of this generation don't use that much bandwidth.
if you have 8Gb of ram and the new gpu you should be able to play BF3 just fine.

Do you have a core 2 duo or a core 2 quad?
To run Bf3 you need a core 2 quad which runs at roughly 3.0ghz to get it to run smooth, its a very cpu intensive game.
i have a intel core duo quad 2.3 ghz if i overclock how many ghz can i have?
Depends on the chip and cooling.
