Title: Updated forum
Post by: Gijs on 19 November 2014, 01:44:46
I've made some changes on the back end of the forum which should reduce server load and increase loading speed (although the forum was already blazing fast ;)
If you notice any problems please let me know.

Yeah , thank you for that...
today suddenly forums opened in less than a second and i was like " WHAAAAAT!? " as it would take like 2 seconds to generally load ( NO! it wasn't  because of my internet speed) afterwards saw the forum update
than thought to reply to it  , started with  f**** you Gijs , than backspace couple of words , than typed "Yeah ........... forum update"
than planned to type what happened after i saw the forum update post,  than started with f*** Gijs, backspace couple of words , typed "Yeah........ forum update"than thought to reply the reply of it and OMFG!!!!

Odd, it always loaded in less than a second for me.
These changes only take a few microseconds of the load time and increase the amount of traffic the forum can handle. (Allows more active users at the same time)

Didn't expect any noticeable changes.

You really noticed this speed up since yesterday and not before?

Just did another small update: should improve the loading speed a little bit again ;)

I changed my mobile internet, including modem, 8gb downloading stuff without limit, aaaaand 500kbit/s download speed with hsdpa, with limit, and bad connection. I download at least a 25 times more than my last internet. Which means I got a decent internet, and already updated my video cards, sooo.. I could pretty much play halo and start lulzing on the forum, rite?

WRONG

At home, the forum is not loading :c Whenever I downloading stuff, or not, whether doing something, or nothing, the connection always drops to 0kbit/s, whenever I try to access the forum. Oh and I have like 60 ping on most server.. and immense laggs, extreme pings for any amount of seconds, and so on.. It was better to play all low graphics, still have 20 fps, and have high ping instead of this..

So, I can't access the forum since I changed. Not sure if its because of tapatalk, changes, or my internet, the deal is that I can't access it.

It's probably your Internet connection since no one else is getting the problems you have. Tapatalk has nothing to do with the forums. It's just a forum modification and it works perfectly.

Eagle is not the only person with the forum problem. Today i luckily got my hands on a internet connection that oddly enough can load the forum. The whole inactiviness of mine has come to the fact that i cant load the forum on any internet connection or browser. Its weird.

If you don't have issues with www.xgclan.com but you do with the forum then it might be caused by HTTPS.
Modern browsers and OS have support for SNI which is required.

Minimum requirements:
Desktop Browsers

    Internet Explorer 7 and later
    Firefox 2
Opera 8 with TLS 1.1 enabled
    Google Chrome:
Supported on Vista and later by default
OS X 10.5.7 in Chrome Version 5.0.342.0 and later
Safari 2.1 and later (requires OS X 10.5.6 and later or Windows Vista and later)

Mobile Browsers

    Mobile Safari for iOS 4.0
    Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and later
    Windows Phone 7

Windows XP SP2 and Android <3.0 are not supported either.
I didn't think anyone would still be using these, since they are really outdated and less than 1% of the global internet users still has this. I guess some people never install updates... :o ::)
